-Vector Graphics are made up of lines and curves defined by mathematical objects called vectors, which describe an image according to its geometric characteristics.
-Modify vector graphics without losing detail or clarity, because they are resolution-independent.
Paths
-A line or shape in flash.
-A path is made up of one or more straight or curved segments.
-A stroke can have weight (thickness), color, and a dash pattern.
1.4.1 Properties of vector Graphics
SVG= Scalable Vector Graphics
SWF=Small web format
AI=Adobe Illustrator Artwork
1.4.4 Transforming objects in vector graphics
-You can transform graphic objects by using the free transform tool (Modify > Transform)
Application
-Adobe Flash is a multimedia platform used to add animation, video, and interactivity to web pages.
File size
-A one minute SWF will usually be smaller in file size than a one minute GIF.
2.2 How the human eyes sees color
- A green card does not emit green light. Rather, it simply absorbs all the frequencies of visible light
shining on it except for a group of frequencies that is perceived as green.
2.3 The color wheel
-Primary colors, secondary colors, complementary colors.

Primary colors
-Artist's primary colors or red, yellow, and blue.
-But the primaries cannot be created by combining just any of the other colors.
Secondary colors
-Secondary colors that are produced by combining two primaries in equal measure.
Eg.
Red + Yellow = Orange
Yellow + Blue = Green
Blue + Red = Purple
Tertiary
-The tertiary colors are created by mixing primary color and a secondary color and as econdary color in equal measures.
Neutrals, Tints and shades
-A tint is any mixture of a bright"pure" color with white.
2.4 The meaning of color
Red (Primary Color)
-Red is the color of fire and blood.
-Passion.
-love.
Yellow (Primary Color)
-Yellow is the color of the sun.
-happiness.
-produces a warming effect.
Blue (Primary Color)
-Blue is the color of the sky and the sea.
-Creates a calming effect.
Green (Secondary Color)
-Green is the color of nature.
-Associated with healing.
Orange (Secondary Color)
-Orange is associated with joy
-Sunshine
-Enthusiasm
-Happiness
Purple (Secondary Color)
-Purple conveys wealth
-royalty
-luxury
-ambition
Black (Neutral Color)
-Black is associated with power
-Formally
-Authority
-Death
-Evil
White (Neutral Color)
-White associated with innocence
-Purity
-Virginity
Gray (Neutral Color)
-Gray is the color of sorrow
-Detachment
-Isolation
Warm Colors
-Warm colors include Red, Orange and Yellow
-Energy
-Happiness
Cool Colors
-Cool colors include green, blue, and violet.
2.5 Color Schemes
Analogous color scheme
-Analogous color schemes use colors that are next to each other on the color wheel.
-They usually match well and create serene and comfortable designs.
Complementary color Scheme
-Colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel are considered to be complementary colors.
-This creates an intrinsically high level of contrast and creates a dramatic look.
-Contrasting colors are typically bad for text.
2.6 Digital Color Models
-Additive Primaries are the three colors of light that produce all the colors in the visible spectrum when added together in different combinations.
-Adding equal parts of red, blue, and green light produces white.
Subtractive color mixing
-Subtractive primaries are pigments, which create a spectrum of colors in different combinations.
(CMYK)
C=Cyan
M=Magenta
Y=Yellow
K=Black
2.7 Color Mode
-The color mode, or image mode, determines how the components of a color are combined, based on the number of color channels in the color model.
RGB Color mode
-The RGB model is used by computer monitors to display colors.
-RGB is a standard color model
CMYK Color mode
-In the CMYK mode, each pixel is assigned a percentage value for each of the process inks.
-Use the CMYK mode when preparing an image to be printed using process colors.
-Converting an RGB image into CMYK creates a color separation.
